It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Those words bring to mind wonderful memories, feelings, and anticipation. Loved ones, lights, yummy treats, cozy home. Giving and receiving gifts. Peace in our hearts.
But looking a lot like Christmas is not always happy, cozy, or peaceful. There's uncertainty, turbulence, loss. As the Bible puts it "my soul is greatly troubled." There's that broken relationship, empty bank account, shattered dream, bombshell medical diagnosis. That's what Christmas is looking like.
Yet that's where hope steps in. In the middle of all the chaos, God is extending His hand and if we grab on to Jesus, He gives the best gifts of all. Peace, hope, and even joy.
