It's pretty amazing to visit the site believed to be the place where Jesus was born. It's a cave beneath a church in Bethlehem. But the door on that church is so low, no adult can enter without bowing down.
That's appropriate. Because of Who that baby is. He's Jesus - who the Bible says is the "King of all kings." You don't just admire Him. You don't just believe in Him. You bow down.
That's why King Herod wasn't at the manger. See, a baby was one thing; a king, that was something else. He wanted to be in charge - just like us. It's called sin. And that's why Jesus came. To, in the Bible's words, "save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:18). Which meant being nailed to a cross to pay our death penalty for hijacking our lives.
You may like Jesus, agree with Jesus, believe in Jesus. But has there ever been a day when you bowed down and said, "Jesus, You're my only hope. You're in charge from this day on?" This could be that day.
