I really love Christmas music but maybe not so much that I want to start listening to it before Halloween. But I still love it! I keep hearing this word over and over in these songs though - peace.
There's something about Christmas that makes us yearn for peace. Peace in the world and our homes and our relationships. You know our creator has actually wired us to search for peace because he wants us to be at peace with Him. That's because according to God's book we are actually born at war with God. Born into sin, into doing things our way instead of our creator's. How in the world are we supposed to sleep in heavenly peace when we're at war with the One who created us?
Well the story doesn't end there. God has made a way for us to be forgiven and free. The Bible says when we were God's enemies we were reconciled to Him through the death of His son. What an awesome gift this forgiveness is where we can actually be at peace with God!
