Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - November 2009 Prayer Update

Dear Friend,

Every person you know, every person you love, is on one of two lists.

Titanic was gone. Relatives of Titanic's passengers agonized in the Liverpool office of White Star Lines, waiting to learn the fate of their loved ones. The company had the difficult challenge of informing the family members of the 2,200 passengers when word finally came. Ultimately, they set up a huge board with two lists, headed by two cardboard signs: "Known to be saved" and "Known to be lost."

All the people in your personal world are on one of those same two lists - saved...lost. In God's words, "God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life" (1 John 5:11-12 ). But unlike the Titanic passengers, those who are "lost" can still change lists! But only if a rescuer gets to them in time with the Good News of Jesus.

There are people on that "lost" list that you want to have in heaven with you some day. And because of your relationship with them, you have been divinely positioned to tell them about Jesus. You are, in a sense, God's designated "lifeguard" on the stretch of beach He's assigned to you.

The good news is that some of the best days of the year for telling people about Jesus are just ahead! During the holiday season, hearts are softer, and more open. Christmas puts Jesus on people's radar - and makes it more natural to talk about Him - than any other time of the year.

Month after month, you help our Team rescue lost people across the country and around the world - and train many believers to be spiritual rescuers. But we want to come alongside you as you use these next few weeks of opportunity to reach your own "lost" list. That's why we've prepared a special rescue tool that's specifically designed for this time of the year.

You may want to include it with a Gospel-oriented Christmas card you send to them. And Thanksgiving is a perfect time to write a letter to a family member or friend, telling them reasons you love and appreciate them, even apologizing where that is appropriate. You can include the "Born To Rescue: 12 Days of Christmas" booklet to "share with you the greatest gift I ever received in my life."

Or you may want to have them over for a special dinner or dessert, possibly in conjunction with a special Christmas concert in your area. Karen and I've found it effective to invite lost friends over for dessert after a Christmas program and to use it as a springboard to share some of our "Hope Story." This tool could be a "thank you" to them for sharing the evening with you.

You've partnered with us to reach people you don't even know. We want to partner with you now to rescue the people you know and care about. That would bring our rescue partnership with you full circle in a wonderful way.

Would you begin to pray every day, by name, for God to use you this holiday season as an intentional rescuer of the people around you? Pray that "3-open prayer" that we're teaching believers across the country and around the world - "Lord, open a door (a natural opportunity)...Lord, open their heart...Lord, open my mouth!" You’ll be amazed at the opportunities He'll give you! Because there's no greater gift you can give this holiday season than the News that will give someone heaven!

And as you're praying, would you join us in praying for the financial breakthrough we need these next few weeks? The great burden of my heart this season is how vulnerable we are financially at the same time the harvest is taking off. With only weeks left in this year, what God sends through friends like you this month will decide so much. We have to finalize our 2010 budget this month - and make decisions on which so much ministry - and so many lives - depend. Your gift right now will literally help shape the scope of our rescue efforts for many months to come.

We'll be stepping up our rescue efforts in this "season of opportunity" with many Christmas outreach initiatives. Including the "Born To Rescue: 12 Days of Christmas" booklet that we want you to have to make this a life-giving season for your lost friends and family.

So, thank you so much for what you've already done - and what God leads you to do this month. With 150,000 souls going into eternity every day, ready or not, we need to make every day a life-saving day. When folks are remembering that Jesus came, they need someone to tell them why He came. They are the reason.
