Dear Friend, I had called to encourage Joy and Greg, two friends of this ministry. They challenged and encouraged me. When I thanked them for being in that small percentage of believers who give to reach people without Christ, Joy said with deep emotion:
That's as far as she got. Though she's belonged to Jesus for 20 years, she still chokes up at the memory of what life was like without Him. She can't stand to leave people lost. You can't either - I believe that's why you're a rescue partner with us, too. You know that to live without Jesus is hard. And to die without Him is hell. Jesus literally put His body between the lost and an unspeakable eternity. Now He's asking all of us He's rescued to stand in that life-saving gap - to "hold back those who are staggering toward slaughter" (Proverbs 24:11 ). It's no accident that we ended up in each other's lives. I believe God brought us together for His glory and His rescue mission. It's a triple heart match - His, yours and ours. A heart that aches for those who are trying to live without a Savior, who must not enter eternity without a chance at Jesus.
Native young people on a dozen reservations are spending their last dark days without Jesus - because an On Eagles' Wings team will soon be bringing His hope. Many others, from some 60 Indian nations, will encounter the Savior at Warrior Leadership Summit. And believers across the country are being equipped by our A Life That Matters small group training so they can do the rescuing. We are fully mobilized this Spring to rescue as many as possible - in spite of an economy that makes that more challenging than ever. We've taken the difficult steps to downsize, to make your gifts go even farther. But we're not retreating from pursuing the lost with everything we've got. So, any gift you can send in this most financially intensive stretch of the year will make a decisive difference. And your prayer - well, there's no way to tell you how much depends on it. In these days of historic cultural uncertainty, I cannot find words to tell you what your faithfulness and generosity and sacrifice mean. You can be sure where your investment is going - to tell more about the Savior who is their only Hope. It's an awful thing to be lost. We cannot let ourselves ever forget them or retreat from saving them. He never does. So grateful He brought us together, Ron Hutchcraft Learn how to share these articles with your friends (video tutorial) |
