Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - January 2012 Prayer Update

For most folks, it was just a blip on the evening news. Not for me. I can't get it out of my mind.

As of a few weeks ago, there are seven billion people on this planet. That's what demographers see. Seven billion souls - all of whom will spend eternity in heaven or hell. That's what God sees. A world of people whose only hope is Jesus.

When Jesus was born, the angel said this "good news of great joy" was for "all the people." When Jesus was about to leave, He said, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone" (Mark 16:15 - NLT).

They tell us the world's population then was 200 million people, today that's the population of some individual countries. Now "everyone" is 35 times what it was when Jesus gave His Final Orders! The orders haven't changed. But the challenge - the urgency - of carrying them out is so much larger. And the stakes are so much higher. "Business as usual" is unacceptable.

I keep hearing this persistent drumbeat in my soul - this milestone is a mandate! To go faster and farther than we've ever gone before to rescue as many as possible. I know it's not just a mandate for me, for RHM. It's a call to action for every church, every ministry. It's the work of every person who knows Jesus to get to every person who doesn't.

As I write to you, I know I'm writing to someone who cares about a lost world. You show it all the time by praying for our work of spiritual rescue, and by giving as you can to make it possible for more to hear. As we head into this decisive new year together, I want to reaffirm our commitment to Jesus as our Leader and to you as our partner...

We will use every possible means to put an understandable Gospel within easy reach of lost people around the world.

That's where your gifts will go. That's what your prayer will empower.

God has given us an amazing Team of rescuers who know how to capture attention and hearts through our generation's emerging technologies. They've proven it with the incredible harvest (over 20,000 young people from 85 countries) from The Doug and Jon Show website. They're working every day to expand our outreach to the world's young people - and to launch new initiatives for me to share the Gospel with a world of adults.

We're moving ahead to put our "A Word With You" radio broadcast within reach of a billion-plus people in Asia. We're working to expand our On Eagles' Wings® reservation outreach teams and our life-changing Warrior Leadership Summit for Native young people. And to bring those experiences within the reach of every Native young person through technology.

So once again - at the dawn of a new year - I thank you for going with us into this great adventure called the Great Commission. That, in a sense, is now so much greater than it's ever been. We have the Message. We have the means - proven means. And we await the money, sent by God through friends like you. Your gift this month is like pushing the "launch" button on the mission.

Jesus said one soul was worth more than gaining "the whole world." And a million more souls will go into eternity this week alone - ready or not. Together, we can give many more the chance we got. To know our Jesus. To be in His heaven.
