Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - August 2010 Prayer Update

Dear Friend,

It's been really hot in our part of the country. Vacationing by a river seems like a wonderful idea.

But in one of our area's most beautiful recreational locations, the river became a monster in the middle of the night. As hundreds of campers were sleeping, the river was rising by up to eight feet an hour. Suddenly, vacationers awoke to the screams of people being swept away, of camper trailers ripped apart or carried off, of loved ones enveloped by a wall of water. Flash flood warnings had been posted during the night, but most folks were beyond their reach. Their only hope was a warning. But no one along that river knew what was coming.

"I have made you a watchman...give them warning from Me." - Ezekiel 3:17

That's God's command to each of us who belongs to Him. We need to get His warning to lost people who "will surely die" in the flood of God's judgment for human sin - if they do not know the Savior who took that judgment for them on a cross.

Unlike the people by that swollen river that night, there are countless folks who can be reached with the warning of the Gospel. But only by someone who's close enough to get to them. Oh, God's life-saving message is being broadcast week after week - in religious meetings and religious places where very few lost people will ever go to hear it. If people without Christ are to be saved from an unthinkable eternity, it will have to be where they are, by someone who's close to them.

That's why - as you read this letter - I'm with a Native American rescue team on Indian reservations. We're among a people who have largely missed Jesus in 500 years of mission efforts to reach them. But they're listening - and responding - now. I'm an eyewitness night after night. They're moving to the "high ground" of Jesus' cross because the people bringing the warning are just like them - from their "tribe." Native young people are choosing Jesus by the thousands because the Message is being delivered by Native young people.

RHM is doing for believers across the country, and the world, what it's doing to break through to Indian young people - equipping believers to rescue people from their "tribe." Moms reaching the "Mom" tribe...business people reaching the business tribe...students going to their student tribe. A distant warning won't save people. You have to get close. And your prayer, your gifts are helping us raise up an army of believers who are rescuing those within their reach.

There's no vacation in the rescue business. Every day this summer, the warning of the Gospel has been moving in where lost people are - through our youth Website...my "Good News" videos on the Internet...our daily radio broadcasts...and this amazing On Eagles' Wings team of reservation rescuers.

This month, as you wrap up your summer, just know that you're also helping to send the warning of God across the country and around the world. Through your prayer and your gifts to this ministry. With our rescue efforts going full throttle this summer, your gift is very appreciated. Anything you can send this month will be help when the help is urgently needed. Thank you!

Time is short. The river is rising fast. A lot of lives are in danger - eternal danger. Do we hear the screams of the people about to be swept away?

The warning of God is in our hands. In God's words, "I will hold you accountable" (Ezekiel 3:18 ). Thank God, someone got to us. Together, we'll get to many more whose lives depend on "the warning."
