With today's relentless 24-hour news cycle, it seems as if everything is "breaking news." A car chase in L.A., the scandal du jour, a hearing on Capitol Hill. There's enough news to feed a news junkie's habit around the clock.

In reality, a lot of today's "big news" is actually pretty small news. Meanwhile, people are missing the biggest News in the universe. The News their eternity depends on. It's about the 72 hours that rocked the world - and can transform their world.

In just three days, Jesus Christ paid the price for every sin of every person who's ever been born...opened the door for people to live now and forever with God instead of without Him...and "destroyed death" (2 Timothy 1:10 ) when He walked out of His grave under His own power.

His life split history in two. His death and resurrection split the personal history of millions of our lives in two - before Christ came in and after. And the power of His resurrection has reached hopeless marriages, broken hearts, broken lives, awful bondages - and changed everything.

The News of that cross and that empty tomb is what the Bible calls the "Gospel" - which literally means good news. That Message is the magnificent obsession of my life. And of this ministry. Getting it to as many lost hearts as possible is the singular focus of everything we do.

In a culture full of evil practices and social injustice, those first Christians just kept preaching "nothing...except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2 ). And that "it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him" (Acts 2:24 ). The power of that Message, unencumbered by any other agendas, changed the world forever. So, the rescue work we do in partnership with you is focused like a laser on the cross and the resurrection of Christ- no more and no less. Our starting point varies, depending on the audience we're trying to reach. But the destination of everything we do is the same - get them to the Cross.

Our youth Website, where over 3,000 young people have met Christ in recent months, brings them in through comedy and videos about the battles they face. Our On Eagles' Wings team - who've led nearly 7,000 Native young people to Christ in recent years - connect on reservation basketball courts through sports and music. Our outreach to adults through radio programs like A Word with You and our Internet website begin with people's felt needs. Our A Life That Matters rescue training of believers like you starts with their relationship with the lost people in their world.

But they all lead to the same place. To a skull-shaped hill with a cross on top and a garden tomb with the stone rolled away. Across the country...around the world...around the clock - we have the thrill of spreading this News that changes lives and changes eternity everywhere it's proclaimed!

You are one of the reasons we can! Your prayer and your gifts are helping "this Gospel of the kingdom...be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations" (Matthew 24:14 ). That partnership is especially appreciated right now. After the three leanest income months we've had in a long time, our Great Commission "gas tank" is running too close to empty. So, any gift you can send this Easter month will be a wonderful answer to prayer!

Thank God, someone got His Good News to you and me. And now, as the world is looking more and more like the world Jesus will return to, that Good News is in our hands for our generation. The time on the game clock is running out. So together, let's "work while it is day" before "the night comes when no man can work" (John 9:4 ).
