Download MP3 (right click to save) Recently, some friends' one-year-old baby had to be evacuated by air to a children's hospital. Mom thought she’d be able to fly with the little guy, but at the last minute she learned she couldn’t go with him. Her cell phone photos tell the story: a little boy in the window of a chopper, crying for his mommy, and mommy watching with a broken heart as he took off. After he came home, I told her, “You know, that day you shared a little piece of the heart of God the Father, when He saw His Son being taken away to a place He couldn’t go with Him.” The Bible describes God’s Christmas sacrifice this way: “God loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:10 ). See, God loves you and me so much that He allowed His Son to be taken away and nailed to a cross to pay for the sins that keep us from Him, and His love demands a decision on our part.
