Download MP3 (right click to save) It’s the nicest garbage truck I’ve ever seen…it’s bright and clean and new—it’s in a recent TV commercial for a waste management company. As the truck makes its way through the gleaming streets of a big city, people watch it go by appreciatively, admiringly. It’s very realistic, of course. I love their motto though: “The waste we collect helps power over a million homes.” Now, that’s cool! Garbage recycled into power that helps a lot of lives. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and God’s been in that kind of recycling business for a long time. He can do amazing things with the garbage of your life. Paul said he had been a “blasphemer, a persecutor, a violent man”. But he said he was “shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe in Him” (1 Timothy 1:13 , 16). See, God’s grace is so powerful that not only does He forgive even the worst things we’ve done, but He recycles them into unarguable evidence of His love and power. He also recycles our pain. The Bible says, “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ). The pain you’ve been through or you’re going through right now, is where you’ve experienced the love and comfort of Christ on a deep level. Now you can become a conduit for God’s comfort in hurting lives, all because of the recycling power of our amazing God, who uses garbage that He redeems, that only He could redeem, to light a million lives. There’s a lot more spiritual encouragement like this at our website. I hope you’ll check it out. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org. This radio program references: 1 Timothy 1:13 , 16; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 |
