Download MP3 (right click to save) I finally found an Olympic athlete I think I can relate to; that little Shawn Johnson. You know, she was the gymnastics champion, she’s sixteen, she weighs ninety pounds, and does those amazing gymnastics things. That’s not what we have in common; it’s the coach thing. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and Shawn’s Chinese coach has drilled her to perform some of the most difficult things in the world with championship results. She explained why she will take those risks. She said, “If he believes I can do it, if he thinks it’s best for me, then I have nothing to stop me from believing that.” It’s just the best feeling ever to know that you have someone there who respects you so much that you can trust them to that level. See, she risks because her coach believes in her. Well, I have a coach like that, and so do you if you belong to Jesus Christ. He says, “I know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 ). Now here’s where the trust part comes in. God’s plan for you usually demands that you move beyond where it’s safe. If you insist on staying in your comfort zone, you’ll almost surely miss the will of God and the life that matters you were made for. Now over and over He’s asked me to move beyond where it’s comfortable, and He has never left me hanging. You really can, in the Bible’s words, “Do all things through Christ who gives you strength” (Philippians 4:13 ). Don’t settle for what’s easy because it may be empty. We want to help you live a life that matters, and our website’s all about that; ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters.
