Download MP3 (right click to save) With love in the air this time of the year, I was thinking about my first real crush. I was all of 13 and desperate to find a way to get on Wendy's radar. So I went out and I spent all my allowance on a little necklace for her. I wrote note thought was romantic masterpiece. I handed it all to her in an envelope in study hall. The next day I smelled her perfume as she approached my desk. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but the note and the necklace handed back to me! I'm still in counseling. I’m Ron Hutchcraft. And I spent all I had because I loved someone, and they just handed it back to me. Now, that’s a feeling that Jesus knows all too well. The Bible says, "He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him" (John 1:11 ). See, He knows about rejected love. He loved you and me so much that He offered Himself to die a brutal death on the cross as the payment for our sins against Him, every wrong thing we've ever done; our self-run life has left us cut off from His love, His plan and His heaven. But that's where His incredible love for us comes in. The Bible says, "This is love. He sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:10 ). Now He comes to your heart, He knocks on the door, offers the gift of eternal life He spent everything on, and when you don't open your heart to Him, in essence you’ve said, "That's nice, Jesus, but I don't care." And that decision costs us heaven. Listen, if you’ve never experienced His incredible love, don’t turn your back on the greatest love there is. Let this be the day you choose Him. How to get to Him? How to begin that relationship? It’s at our website ALifeThatMatters.org. Check it out today, will you. This radio program references: John 1:11 ; 1 John 4:10 |
