We know how disastrous and tragic they can be, but they’re more than that. They can be life’s ultimate values clarifier. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and how many times have you seen people who have just lost everything they own say, “Yeah, but my family’s safe and that’s all that really matters.” You know there are two lists in life: the things that really matter and the things that really don’t. A life that matters keeps those two lists straight. Tragedies help you get things back on the right list, like when my wife nearly died in a medical crises years ago. Number one, it reminded me what a treasure I have. Number two, it reminded me the only unloseable thing I have in my life. Basically it’s anchored to Romans 8:39 in the Bible, which says, “Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” My one unloseable love. Hebrews 6:19 refers to it as “an anchor for the soul firm and secure.” It’s a relationship that was made possible by Jesus sacrificing His life on the cross so He could forgive all our wrong choices and bond us to God forever. If you’re ready for the one thing that no storm can take, it’s time to say two words to Jesus, “I’m Yours.” Because that’s when you’re finally safe. We’d love to help you get started with Him if you’d just visit our website. It’s alifethatmatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Romans 8:39 , Hebrews 6:19 |
