Download MP3 (right click to save) I met the owner of a used car business lately, and I told him I’d been amused recently when I passed used cars dealerships, because cars aren’t “used” anymore. The sign says they’re “previously owned.” He smiled knowingly used/previously owned—same thing.
I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and this particular dealer and I share the fact that both of us have found the end of our spiritual search in Jesus Christ. So he understood it when I said, “In a way, I guess we’re all previously owned.” He knew exactly what I meant. As much as we’d like to think we’re free, we are all in Jesus’ words, “a slave to sin” (John 8:34 ). We keep doing the things that go against the way God made us to live and we can’t stop. And we’re doing so many things exactly the way someone else wants us to live because they keep us on the road to hell. That someone else is Satan himself. In the Bible’s words, “(God) has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption (That’s like paying the price to get us back.), the forgiveness of sins” (Ephesians 1:13-14 ). We were previously owned by an owner who didn’t treat us well. He left us damaged. He left us diminished, but Someone came a very long way to get us, and He paid a very high price. More than anyone thought we were worth. Jesus Christ laid down His life as the payment for our sin. He is the One we were created for, the One who’s supposed to drive our life. The day you give yourself to the One who loves you the most, you belong to the Savior who will forgive every wrong thing you have ever done, and He will never do you wrong. If you’re ready to look into a relationship with Him, would you go to our website today? It’s ALifeThatMatters.org. This radio program references: John 8:34 ; Ephesians 1:13-14 |
