Not long ago, I spoke on the stage where I had once graduated from college, with you know like Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble and the guys. At that commencement, they honored the top scholars in our class of about 300. When they announced the name of the salutatorian of our class, most of us said to ourselves, “Who?” Until she stood up, hardly anyone had ever heard her name, let alone known who she was. Of course, that didn’t change the fact that she was one of our best and brightest.

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and that young woman had been flying under our radar for years at school, but that didn’t change what she had accomplished. The people who mattered knew what she had done, and she got the recognition she deserved. So will you! Especially if you’re one of those quiet Christians who goes largely unnoticed by everyone, that is, except the One who really matters.

Jesus knows what you do for Him, even if no one else acknowledges it or appreciates it. He said, “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple…he will certainly not lose his reward” (Matthew 10:42 ). In Revelation, Jesus addresses some of the impressive mega-churches of the day with some solemn warnings. But to the one that appears weak and insignificant, He says, “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, but you have kept My Word” (Revelation 3:7-8 ).

Jesus knows His loyal servants, whether anyone else does or not. And on Commencement Day, you will be rewarded and then everyone will know!
