How about the two words, “You’re fired.” Or those nice words, “You’re hired.” There’s so much power in two little words; especially when it comes to our eternal future. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and Good Friday’s almost here. For some, the death of Jesus is just a historical event, and it is. For some, it’s a religious event; it’s part of their Christian religion. Of course, neither of those will get a person to heaven. It all comes down to those two little words. The Bible says, “The Son of God…loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20 ). My son-in-law was on an airplane flight, and they got to talking spirituality (he and the guy next to him) and the guy said, “You know, I left the church I grew up in. I searched for answers, experimented with a lot of different religions and spiritual experiences. I ended up coming back to my church. I walked in and saw the cross in front that I’d seen all those years, and it hit me for the first time. “For me! What He did there was for me.” Well, those are the two words that change everything–“for me.” Forget church, forget Christian beliefs or history. Have you ever, in your heart, walked to that cross where Jesus gave His life to pay for your sins and said, “For me, Jesus.” That’s when the cross becomes deeply personal, when your sins are forgiven…when you trade hell for heaven. Thomas had been with Jesus for three years, heard all the sermons, seen all the miracles, but it wasn’t until he saw the marks of the cross on Jesus’ hands and feet, realizing the price paid for him that he fell at Jesus’ feet and said, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28 ). This could be your day to finally say that, when Jesus goes from being the Savior to being your Savior. Our website is there to help you make that step…ALifeThatMatters.org.
