Download MP3 (right click to save) The unthinkable tragedy happened; the unsinkable ship went down. And now the loved ones of passengers on the Titanic were anxiously awaiting word on whether the person they loved had lived or died. The owners, White Star Lines, had set up two large charts in their offices in Liverpool. And as news came back from the scene of the sinking and the rescue vessels, an employee would enter the room and enter another name on one of those two charts. Each one had a growing list of names. One list said “Those who were saved;” the other list, “Those who were lost.” I’m Ron Hutchcraft. According to God’s Word, the Bible, every person listening today, every person you know, is on one of two lists—those who are saved and those who are lost. Here’s what God says about those lists and the spiritual condition of every person on this planet: “God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:11-12 ). Saved from the eternal death penalty of our sin if you have Jesus in your life; lost if you don’t. There’s no third list. The Bible describes the “book of life” in heaven that has the name of every person who puts their trust in Jesus as their Savior from their sin. Only those on that list will be in God’s heaven, and only those who’ve grabbed Jesus as their only hope will be on that list. There’s no more important question for you to consider today than this: which list are you on? Because there’s still time to change lists. You want to be sure you belong to Jesus? Would you check out the information on our website…ALifeThatMatters.org. This radio program references: 1 John 5:11-12 |
