I was going over some business with my assistant when a young man from our staff came to my door. My assistant said, “Not now, I’m busy.” He looked embarrassed and he started to back away. There was something he didn’t understand. I said, “Hey, look down at the shirt you’re wearing!” He did. It said, “Not now, I’m busy.” He wondered why she had been so rude. She wasn’t. She was just reading what he was wearing!

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and sometimes we wonder why people seem to be ignoring us or not wanting to be around us. Maybe they’re just reading what we’re wearing. In other words, they’re responding to the vibe we seem to be broadcasting. Sometimes we don’t even realize it. For whatever reason, we’re giving off this unwelcoming vibe that seems to be saying, “Hey, leave me alone.” So they do, and then we wonder why they did. It’s part of that old Biblical principle, “You reap what you sow” (Galatians 6:7 ). If you sow warm, you reap warm, you sow cold, you reap cold, you sow encouragement, you reap encouragement.

It seems to me that anyone who’s representing Jesus should be sending out a Jesus-vibe, right? Which is never too busy. Listen to this revealing incident. It says, “The crowds almost crushed Him.” This woman came with a desperate medical condition, she pushed her way to Jesus, and in faith, she just touched the hem of His garment, hoping to be healed. Jesus stopped and asked, “Who touched Me?” The woman fell at Jesus’ feet and He healed her, and it says this of her, ”Seeing she could not go unnoticed…” (Luke 8:42-48 ).  No one can.  If you belong to Jesus, be like Him; send the vibe that each person matters and that your life is open.
