He’s just another everyday guy who suddenly acquires amazing powers. Now in Iron Man’s case, he’s got the ability to generate this covering of iron armor and it gives him super-human strength, and powerful weapons, and fly-ability too. But he’s got some problems, like life threatening health issues and battles with alcohol. One write up describes him as a hero with iron but feet of clay. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and to be honest, a lot of us men are like that. We’re all supposed to be iron men; we’ve got the answers, we’ve got it together, we’ve got everything under control. Yeah, right! We’re like Iron Man. Inside are battles we’ve not been able to win, with dark passions or maybe a temper that’s hurting people we love, depression or selfishness, addictions; things that ambush a life that matters. Oh, a man! He’s got to keep his armor on. But we are wounded guys with no place to bleed. Like one of the writers of the New Testament said, “What I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do. Who will rescue me?” (Romans 7:15 ) He found the answer. He says his rescue came through Jesus Christ. That’s God who became a man because only a man could die for the sin junk that separates us from God. He knows what’s behind our armor; He can rescue us if we’ll surrender to Him. That’s when the healing and the freedom begin. There’s a lot more about getting started with Him at our website. It’s alifethatmatters.org. I hope you’ll visit us there, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Romans 7:15 ; Romans 7: 24 -25 |
