It's really a neat time of year in our yard, because the flowers are blooming. Now, I don't know what they're all called. I have to ask my wife about that, but they really are good for the soul.
I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and there's actually something very special about the beauty in our yard. See, we live in a home where my wife's grandparents lived for years. And Grandma planted flowers there over forty years ago. Now, she's been gone for a while, but what she planted is still beautifying our lives. Which makes me ask a question: How much of what I'm doing will beautify people's lives after I'm gone?
The Bible talks about a man who left a lasting legacy. He was Able, Adam and Eve's son in the Old Testament and it simply says this about him, "He still speaks even though he's dead" (Hebrews 11:4 ). Made me think of something Williams James said, "The greatest use of a life is to live it for something that will outlast it." You want a life that matters? Consider this as a way to set your daily priorities. Think legacy.
It's the people that matter, not the projects. It's the things that are everlasting, not never lasting that matter. Like, for example, people you could help be in heaven with you some day. Our website is for people who want to make a difference. I hope you'll visit us there. It's alifethatmatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters.
