My wife didn’t mean to get two of her fingers tightly glue together. She was just was trying to repair some jewelry of hers, using Super Glue. She accidentally got a spot of it on her index finger and the tip of her thumb, and suddenly, there she was with two fingers stuck together big time.

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and we got into trouble because we underestimated the bonding power of what we were handling that day. That’s a mistake many people have made when it comes to one of the most powerful bonding agents God ever created—sex. Listen to what God, the Inventor of sex, tells us about its power, “The body is not meant for sexual immorality” the Bible says. “Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh’…Flee from sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:13-18 ).

See, even in the most meaningless sex of all, it will bond you to that person, like it or not, because God created sex to only be inside a lifetime marriage commitment. He made it to be so powerful that it would bond those two people for life. So when you take sex outside of the marriage fence it was designed for, it still bonds. After you break up; after you’re married and those bonds invade the intimacy of your married love, like a piece of tape that you keep sticking and un-sticking.

The more you have sex outside of marriage, the more you start to lose the ability to bond with the one person that you love for life. Don’t mess with sex. It has bonding power. If you already have, run to Jesus today. He’s got forgiving power.
