Download MP3 (right click to save) I was spending the night in a motel where there had just been one of those natural disasters we’ve been seeing so much of. The parking lot was filled with cars from insurance companies I guess. So many homes blown away, flooded out. The property insurance people must be going crazy. It’s been one natural disaster after another. Constant reminders of the things in our life that we always count on, you can’t count on. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and it doesn’t have to be a storm or a flood. Life surprises us with all kinds of devastating hits. One definition of security that works for me is this: Having one thing in your life that the flood can’t take away. Here’s the Bible’s flood insurance promise from the 124th Psalm: “If the Lord had not been on our side the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” The margin in every flood is knowing that your life is in the hands of the God who created and who controls everything there is, the God who’s totally in charge and totally committed to you. He proved it when His Son died on the cross for you. When I’ve been on the edge of losing a major anchor in my life—and I’ve been there a few times—here’s where I landed: Jesus is enough. If you’re not sure you belong to Him, we would be honored to help you begin a relationship with Him. Our website’s all about that. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Psalm 124 |
