I couldn't resist buying these two little stuffed bears for my wife for Valentine's Day. You hit the on button and they are drawn to each other with puckered lips and they kiss. Now, there’s a reason they can’t help being attracted to each other; they’ve got magnets inside. So do you.

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and if you have an active relationship with Jesus Christ, you have a magnet inside you, whether you realize it or not. It has the power to ultimately help change the eternal address of people you know and love; people who have never known your Jesus. Here’s the magnet: “Always be prepared (the Bible says) to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15 ).

What’s going to make people curious about Jesus? “The hope you have.” Now, in our increasingly dangerous and uncertain world, the hope Jesus gives is a more and more powerful spiritual magnet. Now, hope is what I would describe as a buoyant confidence; a positiveness that is highlighted by difficult times. If you have a buoyant confidence when your income’s shrinking or your job’s gone, people are going to notice that. If you’re full of hope when your health is in doubt, when the news is bad, when a child is going crazy, when you lose someone you love, that’s going to make people wonder what you’ve got that they haven’t. Actually it’s who you’ve got.

Speaking of Jesus, the Bible says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19 ). If you’re buoyant through storms that would sink anybody else, you will be a Jesus-magnet. Show them the hope, and then tell them where they can find it.
