Download MP3 (right click to save) My friend has been in Special Ops in the military, and he told me what he learned from the training that one branch of the British Special Forces receives. These recruits were assigned a mission to go solo through difficult terrain and to make it to a specified destination before time ran out. One catch: they didn’t tell them when time ran out.
I’m Ron Hutchcraft. I thought, “Man, I’ve got a mission like that.” If you have Jesus in your heart, you’ve got a mission like that; a goal He’s assigned you to reach before time runs out, except you don’t know when that will be. The mission? Well, the Bible say, “Rescue those being led away to death” (Proverbs 24:11 ). See, the Bible explains that people who go into eternity without knowing the Savior who died for their sin will be “punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord” (2 Thessalonians 1:9 ). You and I know the Savior they need to know. We know He took that everlasting punishment so they don’t have to, but somebody has to tell them that. And you never know which day will be the last day for someone we love—the day their eternity will be settled forever. I’ve attended the funerals of people that I so wished I had told about my Jesus. It is a terrible feeling to have possibly let them go into eternity without knowing how they could go to heaven. Why? Because I was afraid of what they might think? Suddenly that all seems so lame. When it comes to Jesus, our silence is not golden. It’s deadly. Our website is all about helping you help people you know go to heaven with you. Would you check it out—AlifeThatMatters.org?
