Ted Kennedy's recent death was more than a passing of a United States Senator. It's called by many an end of an era. But some at the funeral, it was a loss of their Dad, their uncle that they loved. Senator Kennedy's son, Teddy Jr. reminisced about an incident that happened shortly after he'd lost his leg to cancer as a boy. Young Teddy slipped as he was walking up an icy driveway, and he started to cry. He said, "I'll never be able to climb up that hill." And that's when he said his father lifted him with strong, gentle arms and said something Teddy never forgot, "I know you can do it. There's nothing you can't do."

I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and there's something about a strong father holding you, and encouraging you, and believing in you that has the power to change an "I can't" into and "I can." I have a father like that. If you belong to Jesus Christ, so do you, because He died to remove our sins, Jesus makes it possible for us to know God as our loving Heavenly Father. And right now you may be going through a time when you feel really vulnerable. Maybe you've slipped. Maybe you're overwhelmed by a sense of weakness or weariness - you're doubting your ability to go on.

But the Bible says, "In the desert you saw how the Lord your God carried you as a father carries his son" (Deuteronomy 1:31 ). As He carries you, He reminds you of these words that have empowered me in countless, powerless moments. "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13 ).

Oh yeah, it's not about what I can do. It's about what Jesus can do. Man, that changes everything.
