I found a way to get the whole family together on a winter night years ago. Just turn down the thermostat, build a fire in the living room fireplace, and pretty soon they’re all in the living room. It was the only warm place. Especially our youngest son, he loved those fires. What if I came home one day and I said, "Son, I smell smoke in your room. How come?" And he goes, “Well, Dad, I love fire. I built one in my room." No, no, no! There’s no fireplace! We got trouble, man! When you keep the fire in the fireplace, you get wonderfully warm. When you take the fire out of the fireplace, you get terribly burned.

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and that's how it is with the fire of sexual passion. Keep it in the fireplace it was made for, it will warm your life in a beautiful way. Indulge your sexual desires outside the fireplace, you're going to get burned.

Nobody knows more about sex than the One who invented it. Here’s what He says about how He created sex to be: "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure” (Hebrews 13:4 ). God designed sexual love to be experienced exclusively within the "fireplace" of marriage. The Creator of sex put a fence around sex called marriage; not for our restriction, but for our happiness. Because sex reserved for a committed, lifetime love is sex at its best. When you don't wait for marriage or if you take it outside of your marriage, you will be tragically burned by the fire that was created to warm your life.

Somebody may be saying, "Well, it’s too late. I’ve already given it away." Well here’s God's promise: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17 ). At the cross of Jesus, your past can be totally forgiven and your heart made clean again.
