Rocky and Rambo are 60! They’re AARP guys!!! What’s happening here? Well, Sylvester Stallone is 60 plus, and he’s brought the mature Rocky and Rambo to the screen again and they’re still fighting. Sylvester Stallone talked recently about one battle that a lot of folks are having a hard time winning. Here’s what he said, “You see billionaires who have everything, yet inside they’re the same lonely, insecure people. You think you’ve got it all figures out, but then you turn 60, and there’s this little hole inside you. You realize we’re always going to be somewhat half full.”

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and you know, it does seem like there is this emptiness that follows us in every season of our life. It’s this un-fillable hole in our soul; this like never ending search for what will give us a life that matters. Now it’s not a new search. The Old Testament prophet Isaiah said, “Why spend money on what is not bread and your labor on what does not satisfy? Seek the Lord while He may be found.”

See, the central message of the Bible is that we’re created for a love relationship with our Creator. Not just believing in God, I mean belonging to Him. And heaven’s diagnosis of the hole in our soul says this: “Your sins have separated you from your God” (Isaiah 59:2 ). Jesus said that this soul hunger can be satisfied and He can do it. He died to do it. He said, “He who comes to me will never be hungry, and he that believes in me will never be thirsty again” (John 6:35 ).
