The Lion King of Narnia is Aslan, a powerful Christ figure in C. S. Lewis's stories. Now, the youngest of the children who discovered Narnia is Lucy. And she hasn't seen Aslan for a long time, and they have this touching reunion. She says, "Are you bigger than the last time?" Here's the king's answer, and I can actually almost hear Jesus saying this, "I'm bigger because you are older." And Lucy says, "Not because you are?" And he says, "Oh I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger." That is how it has been with me and Jesus all these years. He hasn't gotten smaller since I met Him as a child. With every changing season, I have needed a bigger God, and I've found one. I found out you can't outgrow Him. As your issues become larger, you see how much bigger He is than you ever knew before. Here's His cradle-to-grave promise for a life that matters. "I have upheld you since you were conceived, and carried you since your birth. Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He. I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you, and I will rescue you" (Isaiah 46:4 ). There's nothing you're going to face for which your God will not be big enough. Our website has a lot of information about how to begin a relationship with this God and how to grow it for all it's worth. Let me invite you to alifethatmatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Isaiah 46:4 |
