Man, it just keeps happening; one prominent person after another is brought down by some dark secret in their closet. USA Today had an article about this, and it talks about the fall of a mayor, a governor, a president, respected religious leaders all from thinking that they could get away with things that they were doing wrong. That proves again, of course, the truth of the Bible’s warning which says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23 ).

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and this article talked about one reason that so many strong people have a big fall. They called it a sense of entitlement, “I’m so big I won’t get caught.” This sense of being entitled to go out of bounds unfortunately isn’t just limited to powerful people. A lot of ordinary folks make that mistake as well; feeling that maybe they’re entitled to cut some corners morally, to get a little pleasure from some Internet porn, some excitement with someone other than my husband or wife, to get a little money I think I should have coming to me.

Well, the Bible actually reveals two realities that we just cannot afford to forget if we want to have a life that matters. First, there are no secrets. The Bible says, “God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ” (Romans 2:16 ). And secondly, there are no privileged characters. It says, “God does not show favoritism” (Romans 2:11 ). See, He won’t move the boundaries for you, for me, for anyone. Two important reasons to come clean with Jesus: no secrets, no privilege characters.

Our website’s got a lot of practical help for how to live without regrets, and I hope you’ll visit us there. It’s alifethatmatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters.

thank you Ron for sharing.when I wasn't yet a true christian, immor ality is just like playing card to me,it's part of my life.but when I decided to follow Jesus,I also had decided to give it up.now that I'm married,I'm always battling with it.I'm tempted to bite it again, but I thank the Lord because He always remind me that worldly joy can't be compared with eternal joy.and I love my wife and our child as well,I don't want to hurt them, and Jesus also.
