You know, the ”severe weather watch.” Every year around this time, there are some monster tornadoes that leave sudden death and destruction in their path. And always those survivor stories. like the mother and daughter near Oklahoma City whose whole house was blown away around them. But they walked out unscathed because they had one of those concrete rooms in their house, built to withstand twisters. They call it a safe room.
I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and we all need one of those. Not necessarily in our house, but in our life, because we all get hit with our share of severe storms don’t we? They can hit any time: the bad news from your doctor, the collapse of your marriage, the betrayal by someone you trusted, the loss of your job, your income you were counting on, of an anchor person in your life. So many storms and totally beyond our control. What’s not beyond our control is whether or not we have a safe room that can withstand any storm, and I know of only one—a personal love relationship with the God who’s bigger than any storm. It’s the safe room that the Bible describes this way: “Nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39 ). There is just nothing else you can say that about–one unloseable love, one unloseable security, all because Jesus opened the way to belong to God by paying for our sin on the cross. You may have religion, but you may not have this relationship. If you have any doubt about that, tell Him today, “Jesus, from this day on I’m Yours.” We’d love to help you begin your relationship with Jesus if you’d just check out our website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org. This radio program references: Romans 8:39 |
