Download MP3 (right click to save) It seemed like a nice idea—a woman in Israel decided to replace her mother’s old mattress with a brand new one. She moved the new mattress in and threw the old mattress out. The next day it hit her…her mother had hidden her life savings in that old mattress—nearly one million dollars! So mother and daughter spent days picking through Israeli landfills, desperately looking for the fortune that got trashed, and at last report, they’d found nothing but garbage. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and it is a costly mistake to throw something away because you don’t realize how valuable it is. Sadly over all these years of ministry, I’ve seen so many people make that mistake with their lives. If you’ve been left out, you’ve been called names, put down, dumped, abused, you start believing the lie that “I must not be worth much.” That’s when you start trashing yourself with choices that only make your feel worse about yourself. Don’t throw away a million dollar life! The Bible says you are created in the image of God Himself. God says in the Bible, “You will be My treasured possession” (Exodus 19:5 ). And because we’ve all sinned and built a wall between us and the God who gives us our value, God sent His Son to die for you. The Bible says, “You were bought at a price” (1 Corinthians 7:23 ). Made in God’s image, treasured by God, paid for with the life of God’s Son, you are much too valuable to throw yourself away. If you’ve never experienced this amazing love of Jesus for yourself, He’s waiting for you to call on Him today! We’d love to help you know how to begin a relationship with Him.
