The headline said, “Believers okay with many paths.” Now seventy percent of Americans surveyed said, “Many religions can lead to eternal life.” Well God obviously did not participate in that survey. I’m Ron Hutchcraft. The Bible makes this stunning assertion—no religion can lead to eternal life. It says, “God saved you by His grace—salvation is not a reward for good things we have done” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ). Now Jesus made a clear, bottom-line statement that transcends any human opinions we may have about how to get the life that matters that He intended and how to get to heaven. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 ). Now if there was any other way, God never would have had His Son go through that brutal death on a cross. There is no other way because our sin carries a death penalty and you can’t pay a death penalty by doing good things; somebody has to die and somebody did. Jesus loved you so much that He took your death penalty to give you heaven instead of hell. Well there are many religions, but there’s only one Savior. Only One who did the only thing that could get us to heaven. He paid for our sin and that’s why we need Him so much. That’s why you need Him.
