Download MP3 (right click to save) If you’ve got a young football player at your house, well then, your fall’s a lot like ours used to be; pretty much revolves around practice and games. Our guys played for a very demanding coach, but a winning coach. One place the coach wanted to see if you were serious about getting a starting position was in the weight room. My son would come home announcing how much more he’d been able to bench press that day. Listen, the coach expected to see you there, pushing yourself to bigger and better things. Actually, he was doing them a favor. He pushed them to the kind of strength and endurance that it turned out would make them conference champions. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and believe it or not, that may explain the heavy load that you’re having to lift right now. It’s all about increasing your bench press. Here’s God’s strength program for His players. It says, “Blessed are those whose strength is in You. They go from strength to strength ‘til each appears before God” (Psalm 84:5 , 7). How does God build you to a spiritual champion? Well, the Bible again says, “We know that suffering produces perseverance: perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4 ). You’ll never get stronger than you’ve ever been if God doesn’t give you something to lift that’s more than you’ve ever lifted. Not to crush you but to prepare you for the big game and for the joy of a life that matters. When the load increases, so does His grace, so does His strength. You will never have a day without His strength to match. I hope you’ll go to our website if you’re in the market for some more spiritual encouragement. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Psalm 84:5 , 7; Romans 5:3-4 |
