Download MP3 (right click to save) Well Hurricane Ike wasn’t in the headlines anymore, but I ran into some of his effects a long way from where he hit in the mountains of North Carolina; couldn’t find a station with any gas. Hurricane issues had disrupted gas distribution to a big chunk of the southeast and I was hitting what the locals had been living with for two weeks; long lines and limited quantities and flaring tempers, even some physical violence. We asked a police officer for some advice. He checked a website and suddenly it lit up a station that had just gotten a delivery. Well we got there, man, as fast as we could. There was a line at every pump, but we were able to fill up. The next day, I watched from my hotel window as the station across the street got a delivery. Well it didn’t take long for word to spread. All afternoon there was a line at every pump. I mean, word sure gets out where you can get your empty tank filled. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and there was a time in my life when I was running on empty spiritually until someone told me were they got their empty tank filled; at the cross where Jesus died to remove the sin that makes possible a personal relationship with God, the relationship we were made for that leaves a hole in our heart until we know Him. Jesus said, “Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst” (John 4:13 ). For two thousand years, people have been pulling into that station and finding the answers they can find nowhere else. Now maybe someone you know has been trying to tell you where they got filled up spiritually. It’s because they love you. They want for you the life that matters that they found in Jesus and they want you in heaven with them. It may be your day to make the turn to Jesus. We’d love to help you do that at our website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: John 4:13 |
