Download MP3 (right click to save) You’ve got your Super Glue, your Gorilla Glue, your Elmer’s Glue-All—lots of choices for when things break or fall apart. It’s a little tougher to put things together when it’s like people who are falling apart.
I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and thankfully, I have a wonderful place to turn when it seems like everything’s swirling out of control and when the pressure or the hurt’s closing in, when I have no answers and I’ve got no more strength. So many times the margin has been God’s spiritual super glue. It’s called grace. When things are breaking, broken or falling apart, here’s the amazing invitation: “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16 ). It’s a throne of grace because the One I go to for it is totally in charge of whatever’s weighing me down. And God says He’ll download grace that is customized to the exact need I have at that moment. Peter talks about suffering grief in “all kinds of trials” (1 Peter 1:6 ) Now, “all kinds” in the original Greek means variegated or multi-colored trials. Later Peter uses that same word when he talks about “God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10 ). Many colors of trials, resourced with many colors of grace—matching grace. So whatever you’re going through, you can go to God’s throne for His situational grace, suffering grace, parenting grace, single grace, grieving grace, dying grace. When grief knocks on your door, send grace to answer. This radio program references: Hebrews 4:16 ; 1 Peter 1:6 ; 1 Peter 4:10 |
