Download MP3 (right click to save) If you’ve got gold fillings, your mouth may be worth more than ever. Yeah, in the crazy financial times we’re in, the value of gold is going through the roof! In recent days, it’s been going for over $1,000 an ounce at times. One bullion dealer says the reason is that “gold will always be there and always pay.” It’s been used as money as long as there’s been money. It resists rust and oxidation, and it can be used as money when paper money is worthless.
I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and the same day I was reading about the skyrocketing value of gold, I read in the Bible about something God says is even better than gold. You might be surprised what it is. It says, “For a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold—may be proved genuine” (1 Peter 1:6-7 ). Did you know that faith that stands the test of hard times is more valuable than gold? If you’re going through one of those testing times right now, you need to know how much it means, how much it’s worth for your faith to come through this victorious. A tested faith is gold to God because it’s your opportunity to show how much you love and trust Him, even when it hurts. A tested faith is gold to other hurting people because you now have a compassion and an ability to comfort that only comes from walking the wilderness. And a tested faith is gold to you because you never know Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you’ve got. Job said to God after his crucible of suffering: “My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You” (Job 42:5 ). This painful time you’re going through, hang onto God all the way through it and it will be more precious than gold. There’s more encouragement for you at our website.
