Download MP3 (right click to save) The season's changing again. Summer's a memory, fall's here, and winter's not far off. I'm a four seasons kind of guy; I love them all. Of course, the season changing means we have to change, too - like our clothes, our clocks, our schedule, and our recreation. Each season has its unique beauty and its opportunities. And each season has its particular hazards and adjustments. But we need them all!
I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and the prophet Daniel, who saw the changing seasons of entire world empires, said this, "Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are His. He changes the times and seasons" (Daniel 2:20-21 ). In nature; for nations; in our lives, you've already experienced changing seasons in your life; you've got more of them to come. And God decides which season it needs to be in your life or mine at any given time. But all seasons are God's seasons. God's way with His ancient people sheds a lot of light on how He does His changing seasons work in our lives. "Has any god" the Bible says, "ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by miraculous signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds. You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God" (Deuteronomy 4:34-35 ). See, God reaches into His tool kit and pulls out the season you need right now to accomplish His purposes, and for you to get to know Him in a brand new way. Every season has its dangers; every season has its opportunities; but all seasons are God's seasons! This radio program references: Daniel 2:20-21 ; Deuteronomy 4:34-35 |
