Download MP3 (right click to save) It wasn't exactly science that I taught my kids. I told them that thunder was angels bowling, and when it got to be fall, I told them that when leaves turn in the fall, angels had stayed up all night painting them. Okay, I know it's all about chlorophyll and cold nights, but that's so boring. Fact is, for a few short weeks across the United States, there's this spectacular show of changing colors. And I love it!
I'm Ron Hutchcraft. Now, leaves change color once a year. There are, however, people who are changing colors all year long, and it isn't beautiful. There are people who claim to be followers of Jesus, actually, but they keep changing colors depending on the people they're with. The question of those of us who know Jesus is, "Is there one you...the Jesus-pleasing you no matter where you are? Or is there more than one?" Maybe there's one person you are when you're around Christians, another you that shows up at home, work, school, on the ball field, the golf course, the gym, the locker room, when you're around certain friends. Well, here's the plain truth: Every time you change colors and stop being who Jesus wants you to be, you're doing a Judas; selling Him out for whatever those people do for you. The Bible says of Joseph, one of the spiritual ruling body of Israel, "...was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jews" (John 19:38 ). Until he came out of hiding and boldly asked for Jesus to be buried in his tomb. Why? He saw the price Jesus paid for him on the cross. Don't quit on Jesus.
