It was the decisive word in America’s Presidential election. It’s the word that helped make Barack Obama the next President of the United States–change. As we approach a historic Inauguration Day, a lot of people are counting on the fulfillment of the rallying cry of Barack Obama’s campaign, “change you can believe in.”

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and long before any Presidential election–for 2,000 years–it is that promise that has attracted millions of people to follow Jesus Christ–change you can believe in. We’ve all seen over the years that there are limits to the change that any political leader can make because no human leader can change what really decides what kind of lives we live–the human heart. But so many of us have found that Jesus is in the extreme makeover business from the inside out.

Here is a hope-filled promise that only God even dares to make: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ). Not a new environment…a new INvironment with every wrong thing you’ve ever done erased from God’s Book by the Man who died to pay for them. With Jesus himself moving into the control room of your life with the same power that enabled Him to walk out of His grave–power that can conquer the darkness in you. See, He’s a Savior; He’s a Rescuer from the hell inside us and the hell ahead of us.
