Download MP3 (right click to save) Well, for political junkies like me this election season has been a dream—hard fought primaries—oh you know, like the nomination battle between Senators Clinton and Obama. That was fascinating and so was their recent move to try to put back together again what got damaged during all of that. They appeared in the Unity Rally in, of all places, Unity, New Hampshire. Now whatever you’re politics, you got to think that’s a smart move. I mean, they know they can’t win if their side’s divided. Of course, neither can we—I mean God’s people. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and politicians realize that they have to come together to win. You got to believe that your cause is more important than your differences. Now Christians need to remember that. God calls us in the Bible to live in a “manner worthy of the Gospel,” to “stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the truth of the Gospel” (Philippians 1:27 ). Now, unfortunately we let turf divide us into different camps. We’re serving the same Jesus, we’re lifting up the same cross, we’re going to the same heaven, but we’re fragmented by the ten percent we disagree on rather than being united by the ninety percent we agree on. And it’s hard to credibly present a life that matters to a lost world when we can’t even demonstrate that we have a cause…a Christ who’s bigger than our differences. Our Savior prayed that we’d come “to complete unity to let the world know He was sent by God” (John 17:23 ). Let’s do it. Hey if you’re committed to be a make a difference person, we’ve got a make a difference website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org. I hope you’ll go there because God put you here to live a life that matters.
