Download MP3 (right click to save) I’m not sure I understand it, but it’s happening again…people lining up in the middle of the night to be there when some discount store opens on the Friday after Thanksgiving—Black Friday. People have even been trampled as shoppers crush through the door to get those limited, deep-cut bargains. Once the doors open, which might be one of the most dangerous jobs in America by the way, people race around the store, trying to scoop up every bargain they can. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and believe it or not, there may be a picture here of a life that matters. Not trampling people to get bargains, but scooping up opportunities. Paul tells us to live “not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16 ). Literally that means buying up spiritual opportunities. That’s what it means to live wisely. Opportunities to do what? Paul writes in this regard: “Pray that I may proclaim it clearly as I should” (Colossians 4:4 ). He’s talking about proclaiming the Good News that Jesus loved us enough to die for us and was powerful enough to walk out of His grave. That’s news that eternities depend on–people you know. Here’s the key to helping people you know be in heaven with you. Pray for, look for and go for natural opportunities to talk about your relationship with Jesus. It may be something going on in your life, or their life, or the world. Listen to their story, tell them your hope story, and then tell them how Jesus’ story changed yours. Look for those life-saving opportunities and buy them up like a shopper scooping up bargains. The opportunity may never come again. We want to help you be a spiritual rescuer. Go to our website, will you? ALifeThatMatters.org. Because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Ephesians 5:15-16 ; Colossians 4:4 |
