One-year-old Macy McCartney recently returned to the scene of her personal "miracle" - a Houston hospital. In her mother's sixth month of pregnancy, doctors determined this little girl had to be removed from her mother's womb to have surgery for a life-threatening, grapefruit-sized tumor. After the operation they placed her back inside her mother, and ten weeks later little Macy was born a healthy baby girl.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and that little girl could not have lived if she hadn't been born twice. Well, neither could I - neither can any of us. That's not my verdict. It's right from the lips of Jesus Himself, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (John 3:3 ). Jesus said that without a second birth, there's no way we're ever going to heaven - no matter what religion or how religious we are.

The rebirth Jesus was talking about is a definite event just like our first birth into our family was. It's a spiritual birth into the family of God which we are excluded from because of our sin. God is a holy, perfect God and we've ignored and marginalized and disobeyed Him so many times, our only hope is Jesus - the One who came to absorb all the guilt and hell of our sin when He died on the cross.

So how do you get born again? The Bible says, "To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12 ) born into God's family at that moment you open your life to Jesus and pin your hopes on Him. For someone listening right now, this could be that day. This could be your re-birthday!
