Download MP3 (right click to save) A parent’s worst nightmare: Your teenage son accidentally runs over your five-year-old daughter. Now that’s what happened to Christian artist, Steven Curtis Chapman and his family not long ago. My heart sank, probably like yours did, when I heard about it. But then, there was the interview the Chapman family had with Larry King a few weeks later. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and if two words could describe what came through in that interview it might be “amazing grace.” Their daughter had been counting down to her wedding when it happened. The day before, she had journaled about how her life had been pretty easy so far, and she didn’t know how she could handle something terrible happening. Well, the next day it did and she said, “His grace really is sufficient.” You know, it really is. That’s why tragedy or the fear of one doesn’t have to take you on a massive detour from a life that matters. God says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ). He invites us to go to His throne to find grace to help us in our time of need. God will always give you the grace to match the burden, but not until you need it. He’s got cancer grace, and jobless grace, and bankruptcy grace, and injustice grace, broken heart grace, funeral grace, grace that’s customized to your need. You will never have the grief without the grace—His amazing grace. We want to encourage you more at our website; I hope you’ll visit us there. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: 2 Corinthians 12:9 |
