John 10:4 "When He has brought out all His own, He goes on ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they know His voice."

In the previous blog, we began looking at the issue of what God expects of us as His followers when it comes to reaching out to the lost through personal evangelism. Here are a few insights to think about on this subject.

Common pitfalls to avoid when it comes to sharing your faith:

• Don't witness only when you feel like it. You'll rarely ever feel like it and you will not experience the power of God working through your life until you step out and act on behalf of someone else.
• Don't push for a certain result when talking with others. Allow God to do the rescuing of the other person. There are no wasted attempts of getting people to Jesus. Failure equals not acting at all on behalf of others.
• Don't always expect the opportunities to come to you.

Things to do when it comes to sharing your faith:

• Ask God each day to open natural opportunities to speak to others about Jesus.
• Ask God to open the hearts of those He wants you to talk to.
• Ask God to open your mouth and give you the words to say and the courage to say them (Colossians 4:3-4 ).
• Leave home with an expectation that God is getting ready to cross your path with someone who needs Him.
• Be willing to initiate conversations with people, and ask God to help you build bridges into spiritual conversations.
• Let God lead you. He has promised He would, so let Him. While He may lead you to talk with someone in particular, He may not allow doors to be opened to talk with others (Acts 16:6 ).
