You Want Me to do What? When it comes to telling other people how my life has been changed by Jesus, I often feel about like I do when it comes to fixing my car. I know how important it is that the car gets fixed, and I know how much joy it is to have my car back and running good after I have been without it. But to be honest, anything that requires working under the hood is pretty much out of my league.

One of the main reasons why many good-hearted believers choose only to witness with their lifestyle and not with their words is because they do not feel adequate in doing so. And the feelings of inadequacy are so strong that they dare not risk a spiritual conversation with someone for fear of where the conversation might go.

If my confidence level of fixing a car is like your confidence level in sharing your faith with others, perhaps you'll find encouragement as I have in the following truths that come from God's Word.

1) You are not alone in your struggle to step out and share your faith. Even the great Old Testament leader Moses argued with God because of his fears and inadequacy of communicating with others (See Exodus chapters 3 and 4).

2) The pressure is not on you to do the persuading. If you could talk someone into following Jesus, someone else could also come along and talk them out of it. Jesus is the One who rescues the spiritually dying and it is God who draws people to Himself (John 6:44 ). He just asks you to be his mouthpiece. If God can use a donkey to speak (Number 22:28), don't you think He can use you?

3) You are not alone in your adventure of sharing Jesus with others. God will give you the words to say (Matthew 10:19-20 ).

4) If your friends and loved ones reject what you have to say, just remember that they are not rejecting you. They are ultimately rejecting Jesus and the truth found in His Word (Luke 10:16 ).

5) There are no failed attempts when it comes to sharing your faith with others. You will only fail if you choose to remain silent (Acts 17:32-34 ).
