Most Christians in today's churches have experienced some sort of evangelism training at one time or another. But very few people are actually putting into practice what they have learned. In fact, a telling sign of this came about in 2007 when research showed that 51% of the churches in a leading Bible-believing denomination in the U.S. baptized zero for the whole year. Now in case you are saying to yourself "It's not about numbers," let me remind you that numbers represent people. And if this many churches aren't baptizing anyone, we can safely conclude that the Body of Christ as a whole (as further research indicates) has drifted away from its original mission, which is to carry out Christ's mission found in Luke 19:10 . "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

While we seem to not have a problem with understanding Christ's mission for coming to earth, we seem to find ways to justify why we aren't involved in doing as He did. Yet Jesus' words to His followers were very clear: "Follow Me." So if we are truly following Him and listening to His voice (John 10:3 ), we could only conclude that we would be putting ourselves in the way of lost people and doing everything we can to reach them.

Back to the event. Let me just say that literally thousands of people around the country are being not only challenged but changed as they come to understand God's plan for using every person who belongs to Him in very practical ways to lead others to a saving knowledge of Christ. Let me encourage you to read the blogs titled "Links in the Chain" and "The Four Phases" as they describe how God ultimately calls you and me to be faithful links in the chain of someone else's spiritual journey. He doesn't call us to be every link in the chain; just a link. And it has been so freeing for people at these events when they understand that God really wants to use them to carry out His mission.

Specifically, the live event is designed so that every person attending has the chance to develop with our assistance a very personal strategy that they can feel confident in for reaching the people they love and care about. And they can immediately put it into practice. Sometimes we can make evangelism far too complicated. But while there are people, God calls us to reach out to those who have some tough questions and obstacles to get through. God can use even the simplest act of kindness or the way you treat your spouse at a restaurant as a way to draw people to Himself.

You say, "Well, you don't know what mistakes I've made. I'm really disqualified from being used in this way." Here's one thing I do know - God can even take the mistakes you've made and the pain you've gone through and use them as bridges into the lives of people who have experienced similar things, yet did so without a Savior. Or you might say "I'm just too busy to add something else to my already-busy schedule." Great! No problem. This isn't about adding something else to your already busy life. It's about understanding how God wants to use every aspect of your life for eternal significance and purpose.
