Close Up of Clock at 11:59 PMHow would your priorities change if you knew you only had 30 days to live?

This week I had a friend pass away in his mid 20s after having been given just six weeks' notice that he had a life-threatening illness. The doctors told him he had 12-16 months to live.

Stories like that of my friend have ways of causing us to think about the deeper issues of life, namely the brevity of it. Without casting a shadow of gloom or dwelling on the sorrow that death often brings, I believe we can be liberated and even inspired to live life with much greater purpose and risk by taking an honest look at three questions when it comes to facing an uncertain future.

Do I have the confidence of knowing that when I die, I will spend eternity in heaven?

While life after death has been a hot topic since time began (and we certainly won't solve all the questions that remain in this short blog), I would like to share a link with you that will explain how you can have peace about your eternal destiny, knowing your life will one day come to an end. Go to www.yoursforlife.net.

Is there any unfinished business between you and the people you love the most?

If only." These are perhaps the two saddest words ever spoken by those who are left behind by a loved one. If only I had more time with them to make things right...if only I would have said I'm sorry...if only I could take those words back...if only. Who do you need to have a conversation with today in an effort to clear things up before it's too late? Here's a short article that tells more...

Are you living today the way you want to be remembered tomorrow?

For the Christian reading this blog, I believe the greatest impact you can have on someone else's life is to make sure they know how they can have the same kind of personal relationship with God that you have. This involves two things: showing and telling. People must see the difference Jesus is making in your life (showing). And they must also be told how they can begin their own personal relationship with God (telling).

Without the showing, your words come up empty. Without the telling, people could watch your life for 20 years and never conclude that Jesus died for their sins. But when you show and tell them, you give others the same privilege you have had – a chance at Jesus.

We have a resource that's been proven to help many people be even more effective in this area as they seek to have an even greater impact on the eternities of the people they love and care about. We call it A Life That Matters. Find out more by visiting our Online Store. After all, life is too short to play it safe.
