Along with many factors, what seems to be missing is the fundamental understanding that when we enter into a personal relationship with Jesus, we've entered just that - a personal relationship, not a religion or set of rules to live by. This relationship can only be fully realized when it is cultivated just like any other relationship. Your relationship with Jesus is cultivated by spending time with Him in prayer, reading His Word, doing what He says, and spending time with others who are seeking to do His will with all their heart. The more we get to know Jesus, the more others will come to trust in Him. The more we trust Him, the more we grow to love Him. And the more we love Him, the more we want to get to know Him. Unfortunately, many of us will believe God in faith to keep us out of hell, but we would never ask Him to help us fix our marriage, help us raise our kids, or trust in Him to provide for our needs if we were to give sacrificially to others. There seems to be a huge disconnect between saving faith (I believe Jesus died and rose again for me) and daily faith (I'm believing God to help me find a good job).
