Ron Hutchcraft Ministries - A New Set of Lenses (Part 1 of 4)

A few years ago my family went to Disney World. One of the highlights of the trip was getting to see a Muppets Show movie on a large screen. Except this was no ordinary Muppets Show.

To get the full experience, you had to wear the ugliest pair of 3-D glasses I have ever seen. All of a sudden, the characters who were supposed to be on the screen were sitting right next to me - or so it appeared after putting on the glasses.

My favorite part of the movie was when one of the characters came around the corner hitting a bouncy ball tied by a string to a paddle. I remember even ducking a few times because it seemed the ball was coming right at me! The crowd erupted with laughter as they ducked with me.

I suppose the movie would have been okay to watch without the glasses. But with the glasses, everything came to life. And I have found this principle to be true in my spiritual journey as well. Sometimes we just need a new set of lenses to help us see life differently. I call it looking at life through an eternal perspective.
