What is so amazing about this story is that while it is now the longest police chase ever recorded, there's another chase that has been going on for centuries. Since the world began, God Himself has been chasing down humanity and drawing us into a relationship with Himself. "But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself" (John 12:32 ). The Bible is clear that "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way. And the Lord has laid on Him (Christ) the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6 ). What is so amazing to me is the fact that knowing I would be fully committed to running my own life apart from God, He chose to send His Son to die for me anyway. That totally contradicts the way I want to operate in my relationships with other people. I am much more likely to sacrifice something of value to me (like my time) for someone who is at least exemplifying some sort of responsible behavior worthy of my sacrifice. Thankfully, not so with God. He continues the chase. I would like to even think that every person reading this blog has surrendered to the Master Chaser and given your life completely to Him. But with the size of the audience who typically follows these blogs, it's likely that even you might be the person being described here. By an act of the will, you have been running from God at high speeds, knowing His love ever pursues you. You've probably even missed a few close calls in the pursuit, but you've managed a way to dodge the idea of having to deal with your life without God. Let me be the voice of a friend who, because of God's grace toward me, decided it was time to give up the chase. Today is the day to pull over and hand the steering wheel of your life to the One who forsook all and gave His life so that you could live eternally in heaven someday and have life's most important relationship ever - a relationship with God. I'm not talking about getting religion or going to church more. This is not about that. It is about you being reconciled to the One who created you. The Bible says that you were made by God and for God. But you, like me, have chosen to live for yourself. And the Bible goes on to say that this decision we've made to hijack our life has eternal consequences, including being separated from God forever. But this is not God's plan for you. He loved you enough that He sent His Son to pay for your decision to run your own life apart from Him. And now He wants you back. Not to constrain you from living a fun and happy life, but to give you a life worth living - one that is completely forgiven. If you would like to learn more about what it means to begin your relationship with God today, I encourage you to click here and begin your journey. |

It could easily become known as the longest chase ever. Recently, Los Angeles police chased a vehicle for 150 miles before causing the vehicle to come to a safe stop. Videos on this looked like your typical police chase that you can see on reality TV shows, except it took much longer than normal to chase this one down.
